Lin Zou, MD, PhD, (‘97) has been selected to receive a 2013 IARS Mentored Research Award for her proposal titled “Impact of TLR3-cfB signaling in septic cardiomyopathy”. International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) is a non-political organization focused on providing scientific and evidence-based safe anesthesia care. The two year and $150,000 award will be used to support her on-going research on the role of host innate immune system in sepsis-induced organ failure.
 
She presented her most recent research work entitled “Complement factor B contributes to acute kidney injury in polymicrobial sepsis” during 2013 Shock Society meeting in San Diego.
 
Dr. Lin Zou is a member of Dr. Wei Chao’s research team at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Currently, she is an Instructor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School.
