Dear fellow alumni,

It is my great pleasure to introduce the inaugural XYOAA award winners!

After several weeks of review and a series of discussions and votes, the committee finally selected the awardees and presented the awards at the 10th anniversary celebration in Houston on November 17, 2012. As expected, the selection was not an easy task as each candidate is unique and outstanding in his/her own ways, thanks to the education and training at XYSOM. The winners represent a diverse group from different classes, regions, fields of specialty and work settings.

Jason and I felt lucky and privileged to be part of this event, knowing so many outstanding alumni and their inspiring stories. We hope this event will inspire more alumni to get involved with our organization, and join the effort in helping fellow alumni and supporting our alma mater in its endeavor of rejuvenation. We want to thank every alumnus, especially those who nominated, for your continuous support over the past four months, as well as the committee members, for their hard and dedicated work. The final committee includes Wei Chao, Yifang Chen, Ge Li, Shengyuan Luo, Jianyou Tan, Bo Wang, Jing Wang, Liming Zhang, Jason Ming Zhao and Gary Zhou.

While this will close a chapter in the history of XYOAA, it also begins an exciting future for our association. I hope to keep in contact with all alumni and look forward to working with each and every one of you in the future. Meanwhile, please stop by to have a drink if you are in New Haven, as hundreds of alumni have done. Our home is open to all alumni; you just have to mention XY.

Thank you all and have a peaceful holiday season!
